I just think its very unfair to ban escorts from travel.

They are not being prohibited from traveling. It's about going to a foreign country to work without obtaining a work visa and failing to pay taxes on that work.

I did a paid internship in the US during a summer between my university years, and obtaining the work visa was quite a process. By the way, this was during Obama's presidency, in California.

The same applies if you work remotely while traveling or on vacation in another country. Many companies won't even permit remote work from places like Mexico or other countries because, if you stay there for an extended period, you're required to pay taxes on the work you perform there, in addition to Canadian taxes. This essentially results in double taxation. I believe there are legal ways to navigate this situation, but it’s often too complicated and a headache to handle for a shorter visit.
