Circumcision

If I had a son, I’d most likely defer to his father’s preference, whether he’s circumcised or not, since I don’t know what it’s like to have a penis.
My initial view was shaped by Western norms, but I now see circumcision as a preference, not a necessity in most cases (I have met a few guys who had to be circumcised as an adult for medical reasons).

That is wise, but ultimately you should wait until your son is 13 or old enough to understand to make his own choice. My parents are both dead now, they lived and grew up in a Christian society. They did not have internet or global access to global information. For them to circumcise would be totally normal tradition as they lived in a bubble. Today's world is completely different. Totally different. If you go ahead and circumcise your child - don't be surprised if they grow up to resent you.
