Menz is a work in progress, an experiment. I need to update the rules. I will try to get the notifications and other updates working soon. Who pays for Menz? Currently just myself, Mark, adastr@ (now also as Marko). I just renewed domain and the hosting for another quarter. My goal is to build something useful with a group of other people who also want to build something useful.
Is Menz useful? In April Menz had on average, 500 unique visitors per day, and 5000 unique visitors per month. Many more guests than members, perhaps 90% guests, 10% members . And within those members, only a small fraction contribute to reviews - most users reap the benefits from these few contributors, which are promoted to Maverick status.
Menz.Life, like the name, is a club for men. Women are only permitted in the general chat area. SPs cannot comment on any reviews, unless its her own review. Since Mavericks contribute the most they will have the ability to promote clients, to make threads private and access private forums, and also to ban clients. They will have semi-mod status.
However, when a Maverick does any action, such as promote a client to a Gentlemen, it will be displayed on a group-action page. No Maverick can do any action without other Mavericks seeing that action. For a Gentlemen to become a Maverick, they will need to be endorsed by 3 Mavericks.
You'll notice the last update was April 6, I am sorry but I am very busy with other projects. Also, our server is under attack last couple days so the site might be slow for the next couple days too. We have a shared server, it's not worth a investing in a dedicated server until the site is at least finished.
